Section 54
Publication of Election Results
(1) After the counting of votes of an election has been completed, the election officer shall prepare the table of counting of votes as prescribed and publish the results of the election as prescribed and a copy of such table of results shall be sent to the Commission immediately.
(2) When publishing the results of the election in accordance with sub-section (1), the election officer shall declare that the candidate who receives the most votes has been elected and shall issue a certificate of election as prescribed.
(3) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (2), it shall be declared that the following candidates who have received the most votes for the following positions have been elected:-
(a) One person who gets the most votes for the post of female ward member of the rural municipality or municipality, one who gets the most votes among those who have nominated for the post of Dalit women member and two candidates who get the most votes for the post of other ward members,
(b) The four candidates who get the most votes for the position of female member of the village executive committee,
(c) The two candidates who get the most votes for the post of members from the Dalit or minority communities of the village executive,
(d) Five candidates who get the highest number of votes for the post of women members of the city executive (e) The three candidates who will get the most votes for the position of member from the Dalit or minority community of the Municipal Corporation.
(4) After publishing the results of the election, the election officer shall prepare his report including the specified details related to the election and send it to the Chief Election Officer and the Chief Election Officer to the Commission as soon as possible.
